Almost 4 years Later.....How will I ever catch up?

So much has happened in our lives since the last post.....where do I possibly begin?

Ok, I will begin with this.  I came across the blog the other night at work. I have no idea what prompted me to look it up?  After reading the posts, some more than once, I realized how foolish I was to stop writing.  From here on out, The Larson Blog lives on!

Kyan: He's in the 4th grade, handsome as ever. He is extremely talented at everything he puts his mind to.  He.s currently in his 4th year of wrestling, he's getting stronger and stronger and is so fun to watch, never gives up!  I have to admit I occasionally turn into "that mom" and cant control myself when rooting him on. You can often find him out on his four wheeler that he got as a gift for his 9th birthday.  He recently pick up a new sport this year, snowboarding, he's a natural. His room is often a mess with things he's building, creating, or taking apart and fixing,  but he is the biggest helper a mother could ask for when it comes to picking up the kitchen. He loves to cook, but is a picky eater...he could eat pizza burst for breakfast, lunch and dinner if he was aloud to. He loves a good show involving space and his favorite movie if I had to guess would be The Hunger Games series. If he could play with fire everyday he would. If you want to get on his good side, a gift of fireworks will turn you into a Friend for life.  He's already in the double digits, time sure is flying.

Nolan: Currently in the 2nd grade.  This kid is hard core, but loves to cuddle the most of the kids.  He's non stop from the min he wakes up.  He too is in his 4th year of wrestling, but has missed quite a few meets/practices due to injuries this winter. He's a talker, never stops actually. He loves to learn and soaks up everything you tell him, just like his dad.  He has a love for video games that needs to be endlessly controlled by mom and dad. Mindcraft and Skylanders being a couple of his favorites.  He's a genius when it comes to math, something else he defiantly acquired from dad.  He always has us on our toes, never a dull moment with Nolan..... He loves attention and being in the spotlight.

Veda;  Ms Veda Mae is already 4 years old. She started preschool this last fall.  Her favorite movie is "Frozen" hands down. Anything Elsa, Anna or Olaf and you will win her over.  Her favorite color is purple....or maybe now she changed it to blue?  She is a tough one, you can tell she has brothers.  She hates having her hair done and refuses to have anyone pick out her clothes other than herself.  She dislikes jeans and would rather wear leggings everyday of the week. If she allows you to do her hair, she prefers one braid like Elsa or two braids like Anna. If I only had one word to describe her it would be Stubborn,...wait I mean independent! She started Gymnastics this past fall and has the same fearless attitude as her big brothers. She's a natural. To be honest, she would rather wrestle, something her mom hasn't really come to terms with.

Isnt it B-E-A utiful?????

We've been spending days off and weekends at the new house, playing in the yard and doing yard work and just enjoying being near our new house. Micks been busy chopping wood (because apparently he likes doing this manly task?) BUT now with his hernia that he has been diagnosed with he should not be lifting heavy objects. So, I took it upon myself to finish the wood pile............isn't it B E A-utitful. Job well done Mama!!!

New Pics of the "RKR"

This is our kitchen, the cabinets are covered to protect from paint. The island will be stained a dark chocolate to match! Ooh la la

My second favorite part of the house!

The double vessel sink vanity will be to the left where the toilet is sitting. The shower and tub deck will all be tiled with a glass window view of the walk in shower. Cant wait to soak it all up!

The master bedroom. The bed will sit between the windows with the walk in closet to your right.

Princess Veda's Room all painted!

Can it be true?

We had a final (lets hope anyway) meeting with the contractor and our building consultant and it looks to be that our completion date is June! We are going to have to bring a little more money to the table to complete somethings to our liking and my husbands high maintenance preferences (JK mick!) The house is looking beautiful. An exciting feature will be our fireplace stone which is mined in the heart of the U.P. on Little Bay de Noc. (Mick and my old stompin' grounds as kids) so that will be special for us! I truly feel that once we move in, our lives will continue on as they did prior to the move from our home on Valleyview Dr over 2 years ago this month. And to think we have rented in, not one but two houses on a "month to month" lease since then during our house hunt.....who would've known that what was suppose to be such a positive life changing move would've turned this way?! However, there is light at the end of the tunnel now, and what didn't kill us or drive us apart only must have made us stronger, right??? :)

I guess it does start early!!

I was just reading my daily email updates from Ky's teacher and was shocked at its findings. One of his classmates brought Nicorette to school and shared it with his classmates!! Oh my! I am hoping/assuming that Ky did not have any or I would have been contacted first hand. This would be a normal practice of his wonderful teacher so I am assuming no nicotine for my little guy!!! We will have to wait and see what he has to say about this in the morning?!

A few updates and milestones.

Nolan at 3.5 years old

Nolan is now 4 years old,.....as of tax day anyway. Yesterday, the big guy rode up and down the street, (while playing in traffic) on only 2 wheels! Adios training wheels! NO, he was not playing in traffic, he was racing the cars on his motorcycle, common! He took off immediately. He does better going down hill, as its easier to balance. He's such a little squirt and looks way too little to be riding like a big boy! We did put the training wheels back on, running next to him gets a bit tiresome, and he likes his independence. We will keep trying on my days off, now that summer is peeking around the corner!!!!. And speaking of my days off.....I'm back working in neonatal full time. The past few weeks have been emotionally phenomenal, a bit of "the old lifestyle" bit me in the bottom and I have been loving it. I sense a calmness over me that I haven't felt in almost 2 years. Things feel somewhat "normal" again. The Rusty Kitchen Ranch is almost complete and I cant wait to post pictures of the finished product. Move in date is still pending but at this point I am relaxed about the whole thing (ok maybe that's a lye) Now of coarse we couldn't just move without any drama right? Nope Mick thought he'd complicated things this time and gave himself a hernia. Tomorrow he has his consult appointment to see when surgery is. Really Mick, 2 surgeries within one year is your limit buddy, and you better heal quick to move my heavy furniture that has been in storage for 2 years!!! (Kidding again :) More to come when we get a completion date from the contractor.
The other kiddos are well. Veda got her ears pieced two days ago, and looks beautiful, as always. Kyan has lost quite a few teeth over the last few months and if he looses anymore I may have to start feeding him Veda's stage one baby foods. I know I need to post pictures but the USB port is down on the laptop. Getting that fixed soon so pics to follow!

Happy Mothers Day!

Today was a wonderful day spent briefly with my family between my 12hr shifts. I can't wait to plant the rose bushes I got from my husband and kiddos at at the RKR. It reminded me so much of my first mother's day when we lived out west in Phoenix. Mick had bought me them then too and planted them for me in our first house we bought together. AND Yes, I am proud to have on my Macaroni necklace tonight at work!!!!
